10 Things to do in Ibiza that’s not partying

Ibiza has always had a name for itself as the original party island due to it’s world class clubs and DJ’s that frequent the island every summer, but there is so much more to be seen on this beautiful island. Ibiza is one of the Belearic islands off the coast of Spain surrounded by the Mediterranean sea.  The island is a hub of activity from May all the way through to September as most tourists flock to the two party areas of the island San Antonio and Playa D’en Bossa. Restaurants, trendy shops and bars line the street as people stay out into the early hours after frequenting one of Ibiza’s world class clubs such as Amnesia and Pacha. However there is so much more to do. Ibiza is also home to parts of the island with some of the best beaches in the Belearic’s. Many area’s form small coves and picturesque rock formations which make for the perfect Mediterranean photo. Small authentic Spanish restaurants are the perfect place to head for some traditional tapa’s, a range of fresh fish and seafood and traditional sangria beer, it makes the perfect place to spend a low key evening.
Culture lovers will find their paradise in Ibiza towns old quarter offering  traditional Spanish architecture with winding cobbled streets leading to Dalt Vila. Dalt Vila is also known as upper town which forms the rest of Ibiza town. Dalt Vila is where the modern meets the old quarter and the luxury living can be seen from the edge of the port as you take in the luxury yacht.

1.  Take the ferry or a luxury catamaran depending on your budget over to Formentera. This tiny sister island to Ibiza is blessed with pure white sands and clear blue waters.2. Head to the beach at Cala D’hort to take in the stunning views of Es Vedra. This is the perfect sot to grab a drink and take in the view in the small beach bar or hire a canoe and check out the rocks of Es Vedra. 

3. Sa Talaissa view point is the highest viewpoint on the island and offers hillside views of Es Vedra and the southern tip of the island. Getting to the top in time for sunset can make for some amazing views.

4. Wander the streets of Ibiza town and grab an amazing dinner on the harbour. Revel int he view of the luxury yachts as you sip on traditional sangria.

5. Es Cubells is a small town located to the south of the island. This hillside village offers outstanding views of Formentera island off the coast of Ibiza.

6. Head off in search in one of Ibiza’s many hippy markets. Smaller markets can be found all around the island, however the largest ones can be found in Punta Arabi and Es Cana. Head this way for hand made crafts and boho chic style clothing and a selection of exciting food and drink options.

7. Watch the sunset from the sunset strip in San Antonio. Options for this include restaurants such as Cafe Mambo’s and Cafe Del Mar where you can find music, drinks and food to take in the view from the terrace. Budget options can also be found by watching the sunset from the rocks that grace the area in front of the restaurants. 

8. Visit Cova de Can Marca to join a guided tour of coves used by smugglers. Visit at the right time and a light show can be seen in the waterfall.

9. Ibiza is home to loads of Salt pans and taking in the views from these can be a wonderful sight. Be sure to buy some to take home.

10. Head off up in the mountains for some horse back riding. Accompany this with the views off the coast and you are in for a great afternoon.
