Chelmsford’s old feel packed with cobble stone streets adds to the romantic vibe. Both in central Chelmsford and on the outskirts there are plenty of romantic date nights and some unique date nights for those looking for something a little more quirky.

The Wine Cellar in Chelmsford is a unique wine cellar fully brick built and entered down a flight of stairs into the cellar. The Wine Cellar has a full restaurant for those wanting to sit through a romantic meal and also a bar/lounge area  for those looking to enjoy a bottle of wine.

Be on the look out for the special events such as wine tastings, bottomless brunches and live entertainment nights.

Mowgli Street

We have very recently visited Mowgli Indian Street Food in Bond Street and was impressed immediately at the restaurants decor and romantic vibe. The whole restaurant is covered in twinkly lights in mason jars and adorning each bench and seating area that the restaurant has a cosy, magic vibe. The swing style table and chairs are fun for those who want to try them out.

The cuisine is Indian street food in tapas sized dishes designed to be shared between 2.They recommend 2-3 dishes per person. We ordered 4 dishes with a rice and bread and we managed to eat everything.

Channels

Go for a visit to Channels Estate for a classy date night experience. Visit in the summer to dine al-fresco and enjoy the wonderful gardens and grounds. or visit in the winter months and enjoy the cosy interior vibe. It’s traditional British cuisine, very much like a gastro pub. The summer months often offer Friday night tapas nights. Sunday lunch is also delicious, often offering jazzy Sundays as you listen to soft jazz music whilst  you eat.

Nestled inside Chelmsford’s Central Park is Central Park Cafe. The park itself is beautiful filled with lakes and fountains and those picture perfect railway arches. This Michelin star restaurant is well worth a visit for the design and decor as well as the excellent food on offer. The food is excellent all week round, but Sunday lunch really stands out.
