Las Vegas is known as the city that never sleeps, but there is still so much to do during the day in Las Vegas including so many adrenaline filled activities to show you Las Vegas from a different perspective.

The Las Vegas strip, old Las Vegas and the surrounding areas are all jam packed with so many thrill experiences for everyone to enjoy.

Whilst you spend the evening partying into dawn it’s also important to fill your trip with exciting things to do in the day time.

  

Sky Jump

The sky jump located at the top of the Stratosphere tower allows you to literally step off of the top of the Stratosphere a whole 829 feet above the Las Vegas strip! 

This will allow you to see Las Vegas from a complete different perspective. This is not for the faint hearted – it takes some real guts to step from the edge and take the plunge.

Once you have jumped once, you can get the second jump half price. Doing the jump doing the day and at night time is a total different experience.

Stratosphere rides

The rides located at the top of Stratosphere tower are not to be missed either. Three separate rides all offer something to get your pulse racing. Big Shot catapults you up and down even higher above the Stratosphere tower itself! 

Insanity is the claw that rotates you over the edge of the Stratosphere tower! 

Xcream catapults you over the edge of the Stratosphere tower with an abrupt halt! 

You can purchase a ticket for all three rides or just for one or two.

New York New York roller coaster

Take a ride on the oldest roller coaster in Las Vegas if you dare! The big apple roller coaster takes you on a ride in a New York taxi over the Las Vegas strip. This isn’t the fastest roller coaster, but well worth it for the history and old Las Vegas vibe. 

It’s a bit of rickety one and not for those with a bad back.

Fremont street zip line

SlotZilla zip line will catapult you over the Downtown Las Vegas Strip of Fremont Street. It is uniquely designed as a 11 slot, slot machine that zips you through old Las Vegas and definitely a thrill not to be missed. 

You can buy tickets for both the zip line and the zoom line which are at different thrill levels. The zip line is a seated zip line that zips you across from the 7th story, whilst the zoom line is a superhero style lay down zip line that zips you across at high speed from the 11th story. Test your thrill factor to see which you can ride!

Grand Canyon helicopter tour

Take a ride on a Sundance helicopter the biggest fleet in Las Vegas and sample the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Lake Mead from above. The highly skilled helicopter pilots zip you off from an airport just off of the Las Vegas sign and down the Las Vegas strip towards the Grand Canyon. 

Watch is awe as the helicopter twists and turns to show you the highlights and listen through your headset as the knowledgeable pilot gives you information on the local area below.

Taking off and landing is truly a thrill as you watch the rocks become smaller and set off into the air.

We did opted for the sunset and champagne picnic tour and watching the sunset over the Grand Canyon was really a bucket list experience and something extra special. As we got back to Las Vegas the lights had been turned on and the strip was thrill worthy to see at disk.

Las Vegas tandem sky dive 

Take the ultimate plunge and drop from the skies in a Las Vegas tandem sky dive. Drop from 12,000 feet at over 120 miles per hour as you free fall. Then as your skilled instructor pulls the parachute and you are catapulted back up into the air you will see the amazing views of Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, the Colorado River, Red Rock Canyon, The Vally of fire and the Las Vegas strip. 

This is really the ultimate thrill to get your pulse racing!

Swimming with sharks in shark reef at the aquarium in Mandalay bay

The aquarium in Mandalay Bay is not your average aquarium with over 1.3 million gallons of water from North America’s predator based aquarium.

Explore the reef with your personal guide as they show you all of the species inside the reef including sand tiger sharks, white tip reef sharks and sand bar sharks before you enter the water. Then your diving instructor will support you to get in and access the reef as you explore the ship wreck, coral and all of the species inside.

This is a once in a life time experience and surely the only time you can be this up close and personal to this many sharks.

The Voodoo zip line

Located at the Rio hotel this unique zip line zips you between two of the Rio hotel towers at 50 floors up at a the Mascaraed Tower. The height enables you to get up to speeds of around 33 miles per hour if you zip forwards on the zip line. Going backwards still enables you to get to around 20 miles an hour.

At 490 feet up above the Las Vegas strip you will certainly be able to enjoy the 360 degree views of Las Vegas and the surrounding mountains.

Las Vegas indoor skydiving

Take on the wind as you step into the wind turbine and get the full feeling of free falling during a sky dive. This is the perfect adrenaline packed thrill ride to get you ready to explore a real sky dive. You will get the feeling of both falling, floating and flying as you pick up extra high speeds without a parachute.

You can choose to explore this activity either individually or take part in a group flight for your whole family or friend group.

Fly a plane at sky combat ace

For those action packed thrill seekers out there, how about climbing aboard your own fighter jet and being let loose at the wheel. You will fly a stunt plane alongside qualified pilots and instructors to get a real feel for flying.

You can choose from several flight paths including aerobatics, air combat, combination and flight training for your flight depending on your interest.

Las Vegas shooting range

Step into a Hollywood movie in one of Las Vegas’s many shooting ranges and have a go at firing your own gun. Choose from a range of hand guns, pistols, automatic rifles and machine guns as you bullet up to take your shot. The skilled shooters will be available for help and support throughout the session.

You will be fully safe as you are supported by your own safety officer and provided with all the personal protective equitptmet that you need such as ear defenders, goggles and safety clothing.
